Crossplay, or cross-platform gaming functionality, is one of the most important aspects of gaming in 2020 – essentially because it lets friends and family members get together to have fun. Something that PUBG Mobile lacked was a decent crossplay feature without giving unfair advantage to players emulating the mobile game on their PCs. OGs will tell you how excruciating the mobile’s aim assist was on a mouse and keyboard. Lights out, emulator players. Now that PUBG Mobile is completely out of the picture until next time, a lot of mobile gamers are looking for better alternatives that they can squad up in with their mobile phone, personal computer/laptop or a gaming console, namely PlayStation, Xbox & Nintendo Switch users. Here is a list of crossplay-enabled games that we’ve compiled especially for mobile gamers, and no, it is not Call of Duty: Mobile on emulators:
Fortnite: Battle Royale
This game, developed by Epic Games, who also developed Unreal Tournament back in 1999, was released around the same time as PUBG PC version was launched and ever since it has scaled up its player base and creative experiences for its players, whether it is a Marshmello concert or a crossover with Marvel comic book universe. It is a free-to-play battle royale game in which 100 players jump off a battle bus, very much like PUBG’s aeroplane, loot up, fight while building their own cover to be the last one standing. The unique mechanic to this game is building your own cover that is not present in most battle royale games out there. You can also customize your experience with your character skins, meme-like emotes and other cosmetics to add more glee to your fight to the top. The game is available for PC, PS4, Xbox, Switch, Android and iOS.
Among Us
One of the games that was released in 2018 but became a rage in 2020 amidst the lockdown is Among Us, developed by a young American game studio InnerSloth. It is an online multiplayer social deduction game that takes place in a space-themed setting where in a party of 10 crewmates there can be upto 3 imposters and the legitimate crewmates have to figure out who the imposters are before the imposters kill all the crewmates. All the crewmates are given specific tasks to race ahead of the imposters for the win, while imposters covertly sabotage their efforts to kill them one by one for the win. The game is available for Android, iOS and PC. Sorry, console peeps.
Brawlhalla
If you used to play fighting games like Street Fighter, King of Fighters,Tekken or Mortal Kombat but now can’t play because of lack of a good console or gaming system, then you might want to check this one out. Brawlhalla is a free-to-play 2D fighting game developed by Blue Mammoth and published by Ubisoft along with Xaviant. The game has achieved massive respect and participation in the eSports arenas across the globe ever since its initial release in 2014 and has been a go-to game for a lot of new mobile players. Now you can take all of your energy out on your friends on PC, macOS, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS.
These are not all. We’re going to add more lists of games for the searchers soon.
